Edinburgh based Youth Samba Band Pulse of the Place have proudly participated in the 25^th New York City Tartan Week Parade in April 2023 with World Fair Trade Tartan Clan. Having been presented with a once in a lifetime opportunity to take the lead of the parade with the Grand Marshal Gail Porter, jumping at the chance to be part of this special occasion. Our participation was initially postponed from 2020, so the World Fair Trade Tartan clan members and 29 drummers from the Pulse of the Place were finally able to get together and make this dream trip a reality three long years later. Platforming and promoting Scotland’s 10^th anniversary as a Fair Trade Nation and spreading the message of greater equality for all made this trip even more so unique and meaningful. Heartfelt thank you goes to everyone who donated their time and funds to support the young drummers and this remarkable undertaking.
